Rape Crisis England & Wales is proud to celebrate its members and the dedication they bring to supporting survivors and strengthening the movement to end sexual violence and abuse.
We are the national campaigns and membership body for a network of independent, community-based centres delivering specialist support and advocacy to women and girls affected by rape and sexual abuse. Our members across England and Wales do this work every day with expertise, compassion, and an ongoing commitment to the Rape Crisis movement.
All 36 of our member centres provide life-changing specialist support in their communities every day. Their work continues in the face of chronic underfunding, long waiting lists and increasing demand for services, which makes this shared achievement even more significant.
We’re so incredibly proud to share that all 36 of our members have achieved the Rape Crisis National Standards. Over the past 12 months, they’ve worked tirelessly to reach this milestone while continuing to support survivors of sexual violence and abuse and navigating an uncertain funding landscape. It’s a huge achievement for our members, and one that absolutely deserves to be celebrated.
Together, these members are helping to make sure survivors can access high-quality support wherever they live:

“This is a fantastic accomplishment and a real testament to the dedication, care and professionalism across local rape crisis centres. Achieving this high-quality accreditation gives survivors, funders, commissioners and the public confidence that these services are quality assured and designed to meet the needs of people who have been subjected to sexual violence at any point in their lives. Huge congratulations to the staff, leaders and volunteers in local rape crisis centres — we are incredibly proud of everything you do to support survivors.” - Jo Costello, Head of Membership Services, Rape Crisis England & Wales
“We're delighted that all of our members have successfully renewed their accreditation against the Rape Crisis National Service Standards (2024). This important quality mark ensures that survivors and commissioners can have confidence that the services they access or commission are trauma-informed, flexible, and led by staff teams who understand the reality and impact of gendered crimes such as rape and sexual abuse - on women and girls, survivors more broadly, and their communities and loved ones. Our centres work tirelessly to provide high quality services, often under immense strain - their commitment and resilience is borne out in the volume of survivors who say their lives have been changed as a result of the support they received. Well done to each and every Rape Crisis Centre.” - Ciara Bergman, CEO, Rape Crisis England & Wales
