Honour your loved one

Are you thinking about how best to honour the memory of someone special to you?

Perhaps this person supported our work, joined our campaigns for specialist services, or was someone who needed them?

Survivors of rape and sexual violence face a lifelong healing journey, one that isn't linear, and often isn't pretty.

They have to live with the impact of sexual violence, a criminal justice system that doesn't always deliver justice, and a recovery from an experience that is still taboo to talk about in the modern world.

At Rape Crisis England & Wales, we dream of a future without sexual violence, where women and girls can live freely and with dignity.

As a charity, we are chronically underfunded but determined to influence and initiate change.

As a movement, we are relentless, and won't stop until all survivors have access to specialist services and a criminal justice system they can trust.

But we can't do this without the kindness of those who support our mission.

Every donation received helps keep this important, and often life-saving, work going.

This is one way to keep their memory alive.

What's an online memorial page and how does it work?

You can celebrate the life of a loved one who's passed away by setting up a tribute page in their memory. This is an online space where you can share and record memories, with the option of collecting donations for a chosen cause.

The website MuchLoved offers a free service to do this.

How to set up an online memorial that collects donations for Rape Crisis England & Wales:

  1. Follow the steps for creating a tribute page on MuchLoved.
  2. Select 'Yes' when asked 'Would you like visitors to be able to make donations to a charity or good cause of your choice?'.
  3. Type 'Rape Crisis' into the search box and select 'Rape Crisis England and Wales' from the drop-down list.

It would truly be our privilege to be part of your loved one's memorial. Thank you.
