This week your solidarity goes further.
We’re delighted to be taking part in Big Give’s Women and Girls Match Fund, which will see all donations to Rape Crisis England & Wales doubled between 8-15 October.
The Big Give’s annual matched funding campaign means that this week, every penny donated to Rape Crisis will be matched, helping donors’ solidarity and support reach even more survivors of sexual violence.
The campaign comes at a critical moment. Right now, our Rape Crisis centres are stretched to breaking point, with severe underfunding. At the same time, over 11,000 survivors are on waiting lists for their specialist support, with some waiting over a year.
Three centres have also been forced to close in the last year, but without urgent investment, 27% more fear they may be next.
Meanwhile, two-thirds of our centres could be forced to cut services and 53% expecting to reduce their counselling services.
Our Rape Crisis centres are crucial sources of life-changing, and often life-saving, support for thousands of survivors of sexual violence.
For many, Rape Crisis centres can be the first place they’ve felt listened to or believed.
During this time of increased need, we simply cannot wait to see any more Rape Crisis centres forced to cut their services or close their doors.
We need all the support we can get to continue our fight to protect centres, and demand better treatment of survivors.
Give now to double your impact
This week, we’re urging supporters to show their solidarity with survivors, and donate through the Big Give. Every donation you give will be matched, meaning your impact will go twice as far.
The support you give will help us continue our vital work supporting victims and survivors of rape and sexual assault, including the fight to keep our vital Rape Crisis centres open.
