ARCH North East
Women and Men
Established in 1997, Arch North East is the specialist provider of sexual violence services across Teesside. We offer support to victim/survivors of rape and close sexual violence aged 14 years and over and family members who may have been impacted by the abuse.
We provide;
- Therapeutic support, through a specialist trained counselling team
- Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) providing criminal justice advocacy if you have reported or are thinking about reporting the incident to the police.
- Life Enhancement Skills Advisor (LESA) providing practical support across a range of issues this can include but is not limited to; Housing, education, employment, finance, relationships & confidence building.
- The Arch Way project supporting anyone aged 18 and over involved in or exploited through sex work/prostitution that has experienced sexual violence
Referral is via our online referral form on www.archnortheast.org
We operate a women and girls only space every Friday and offer a choice of female or male worker.
We are open until 7pm 3 days a week (Tue-Thur).

Areas covered for ISVA/LESA: All of above plus Billingham, Hartlepool & Stockton
Darlington & Co Durham Rape & Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre (RASACC)
Monday to Thursday evenings 6:30pm - 9pm

Services provided at RSACC Premises in Darlington:
Counselling: 20 weeks of face to face counselling based on the person-centred model
Outreach counselling: offered in Durham city centre, Durham University and Chester-le-Street, in order to ensure services are accessible to all women.
Evening helpline: Mon-Thurs 6:30 - 9pm
SELFIE: Preventative programme for young people delivered in schools and community based settings.
ISVA: Practical support for those who have reported or require more information around the Criminal Justice Process.

Recovery Toolkit: a facilitated group programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
Mindfulness Group: focusing on developing mindfulness skills.
Northumberland Rape Crisis, Grace
Monday 6pm – 8pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6pm - 8:30pm, and Friday 11am - 2pm
Women and girls only
Grace provides a Practical and Emotional support service to women and girls in Northumberland over 13 years of age who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. Our aim is to provide counselling at as many different venues as possible and we currently have counselling bases in Alnwick, Berwick, Blyth, Hexham, Morpeth and Cramlington.
Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland
Monday 6pm – 8pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6pm - 8:30pm and Friday 11am - 2pm
Women and girls only
A free and confidential service for women and girls aged 13 and over who have experienced adult rape/sexual assault or childhood sexual abuse who live, work or study in Tyneside and Northumberland.
Counselling is offered from the main base in Newcastle City Centre and outreach bases in South Shields, Whitley Bay, Gateshead and Elswick. For further information contact the centre.
