Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC)

Women and Girls
CRCC provides support services to survivors who have experienced rape, sexual abuse or any form of sexual violence, whether it is historical, recent or current.
We have a telephone helpline service for women and girls open 3 times a week on Wednesday 7pm - 9.30pm, Thursday 7pm - 9:30pm and Sunday 10am - 12.30pm.
We offer an email support service for women and girls and aim respond to emails within 7 days. The email address for this is: [email protected]
All our helpline and email volunteers are women and all are trained in supporting survivors of rape and childhood sexual abuse.
We offer practical information and advocacy support for men and women who are survivors of sexual violence through our Independent Sexual Violence Advocacy (ISVA) service. The adult ISVA service works with people aged 19 and over. Our Children and Young People’s ISVA (ChISVA) supports survivors aged 18 and under.
We are currently offering counselling to children and young people, and to anyone who has recently attended the SARC (sexual assault referral centre).

Women and Men
CARA provides independent, specialist support to victims and survivors of any kind of sexual violence.
CARA works with adult women and men, young people (aged 13-19) and children aged 12 and under from across mid and north Essex.
The services we provide include:
- Specialist counselling for adults.
- Specialist counselling and support for young people.
- Play therapy for children of 12 and under and support for their families.
- ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Adviser) support through the criminal justice process.
- Advocacy services including advice and support around benefits, housing issues and health appointments.
- A women-only social group with creative and holistic activities.
We provide our services from our head office in Colchester and from outreach premises in Braintree, Chelmsford, Clacton-on-Sea and Great Dunmow.
(please note: at present, we are only able to deliver our play therapy services for children aged 12 and under from our Colchester premises).
Services for women can be provided in a women-only environment on request.
Herts Area Rape Crisis & Sexual Abuse Centre (HARCSAC)

HARCSAC is run as a co-operative by a group of 11 women volunteers who have undergone specialist training in rape and sexual abuse counselling and two paid part-time administrators.
We offer free counselling support to any woman over 18 living in Hertfordshire who has experienced rape, sexual assault, or any form of sexual abuse at any time in her life.

Women and Men
SERICC opened in 1984 and provides specialist, free services in South Essex areas including Thurrock, Basildon, Brentwood, Harlow and Epping.
SERICC provides specialist services for any individual who has or who is experiencing any form of sexual violence. You can also phone if you are worried about your child, someone else in your family, or someone you know.
If you ring us we can offer telephone counselling and 'one to one' counselling, emotional support and practical information, we will not tell you what to do or judge your actions.
Our services include:
Information and support line for survivors of any form of sexual violence including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, sexual harassment and sexual exploitation.
Specialist support and advocacy for victims/survivors throughout the Criminal Justice System. ISVAs also provide access to a range of information including Criminal Justice system, sexual health and well-being support.
Specialist, confidential counselling and support is provided to any adult, young person or child who has experienced any form of sexual violence.

Women and Men
We provide a telephone helpline for women and girls over the age of 14 who have experienced rape or sexual abuse. This helpline is also available to supporters of survivors.

A service specifically for girls and young women aged 11-25 who have experienced any type of sexual violence. Young people have access to one-to-one support and/or group work sessions and can address issues such as their emotional and cognitive response to their experiences, relationships and coping strategies.

Counselling provides a safe and confidential space to explore the difficulties in your life resulting from sexual violence. We can offer up to 20 one-to-one counselling sessions to support survivors aged 16 and over through their healing process.

Sexual violence can have a significant impact on a survivor's life. Our Women's Support Worker is available to offer 1 to 1 support to survivors aged 18 and over in working through the wider issues resulting from sexual violence, such as the court process, housing, benefits, physical and mental health, etc.

Suffolk Rape Crisis (SRC)
Tuesday evenings, 7pm - 9pm
We offer a variety of services for women and girl survivors aged 14 and above. We offer specialist counselling and Pre-Trial therapy for survivors at a number of locations across Suffolk: Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and online.
Our volunteers staff our weekly helpline service, which is open Tuesdays 7pm-9pm providing free, confidential and non-judgmental listening and emotional support to female survivors and their supporters.
