Rape Crisis awarded Tampon Tax grant
Rape Crisis England & Wales (RCEW) is pleased to announce we have been awarded £1.4 million from the latest round of the Government's Tampon Tax Fund for Digital Transformation work (26th March 2018). We were one of very few specialist violence against women and girls organisations to be successful in this round.
The aim of our Rape Crisis Digital Transformation project is to increase our reach to marginalised women and girls by integrating digital technologies into specialist sexual violence services and prevention work.
This Tampon Tax grant will enable us and our membership to build specialist knowledge, capacity and infrastructure to respond to technology-related challenges. As part of the project, we will carry out research into newer and emerging types of sexual violence, including online sexual grooming and stalking.
The project's aims will primarily be achieved by administering a grant programme to our member Rape Crisis Centres.
