Information about who you'll be talking to
All our live chat operators are staff from Rape Crisis England & Wales (RCEW) Centres throughout England. They have training and experience in offering face to face counselling, and other support services, for survivors of sexual violence. They have also undertaken specific training on delivering online services and live chat emotional support.
Our operators are here to offer you emotional support. You can chat with them about whatever is on your mind and they will try to help in whatever way they can. The live chat service isn’t counselling, but it is a first step toward talking about the difficulties that you may be facing. If you contact our live chat and we’re not the right service for you, our operators can direct you to other services and information.
Our operators are experienced in supporting survivors to share things at their own pace. You will have control over the conversation and can end it whenever you want. If you are finding the idea of using the live chat service daunting, rest assured that our operators will support you through the process.
When your live chat session has ended, you will be given the opportunity to leave feedback about your experience of the service. We hope that you can take a few moments to do this as it helps us to ensure that we are offering a service that best fits the needs of survivors. Your individual feedback will not be seen by any of the live chat operators.
