Million Women Rise

18 Jun 2018

Rape Crisis England & Wales is proud to be part of the Million Women Rise (MWR) movement. Million Women Rise is made up of thousands of women who are united by outrage at the continued daily, hourly, minute-by-minute individual and institutionalised male violence enacted against women worldwide.

Save the date for Million Women Rise 2019: Saturday 9th March

We believe that every woman and child has a right to live free from violence and that ongoing violence devastates not only the lives of the individuals directly affected but also the communities of which they are part. We want to highlight the continuation of all forms of violence against women, and demand that steps are taken to put an end to this.

Activities are predominantly based in London but Million Women Rise volunteers have also facilitated regional actions and activities throughout Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England. Every year, Million Women Rise organises a march of women and children through Central London, on the Saturday nearest International Women’s Day on 8th March.

Million Women Rise works with women as powerful change makers. We promote real change that is based on truth, peace, and love. We believe that together we can create change.

Million Women Rise is a collective of women who work autonomously as volunteers, without any corporate sponsorship or formal funding.
