SERVICES

CRCC provides support services to women and girls who have experienced rape, sexual abuse or any form of sexual violence, whether it is historical, recent or current.

We have a telephone helpline service open 4 times a week on Wednesday 7pm - 9.30pm, Thursday 7pm - 9:30pm, Saturday 3pm - 5.30pm and Sunday 10am - 12.30pm.

We offer an email support service and will respond to emails within 2-7 days. All our email volunteers are women and all are trained in supporting survivors of rape and childhood sexual abuse. The email address for this is: support@cambridgerapecrisis.org.uk

We have free face-to-face counselling for women and teenage girls who have experienced rape, child sexual abuse or any other form of sexual abuse or violence and who live in Cambridgeshire. Our counselling is available in Cambridge, Huntingdon and Ely.

We offer practical information and advocacy support for survivors of sexual violence through our Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA) service. The adult ISVA service works with people aged 19 and over and the Children and Young People’s ISVA (ChISVA) supports survivors aged 18 and under.

SERVICES

CARA provides independent, specialist support to victims and survivors of any kind of sexual violence.

CARA works with adult women and men, young people (aged 13-19) and children aged 12 and under from across mid and north Essex.

The services we provide include:
-Specialist counselling for adults.
-Specialist counselling and support for young people.
-Play therapy for children of 12 and under and support for their families.
-ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Adviser) support through the criminal justice process.
-Advocacy services including advice and support around benefits, housing issues and health appointments.
-A women-only social group with creative and holistic activities.  

We provide our services from our head office in Colchester and from outreach premises in Braintree, Chelmsford, Clacton-on-Sea and Great Dunmow.
 
Services for women can be provided in a women-only environment, on request.

OTHER INFORMATION

We provide workshops and training on sexual violence for professionals, schools and other agencies.

SERVICES

We are a registered charity since 1986. The Centre is run as a co-operative by a group of 14 female volunteers and two part time administrators.

Our aim is to support women over the age of 18 living in Hertfordshire who have experienced rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse at any time in her life.

We offer free confidential telephone and face to face counselling, together with access to a 24hr helpline, calls to which are responded to as soon as possible, usually within a few hours. Our helpline is staffed every Thursday 7.30pm to 9.30pm when a counsellor answers calls.

SERVICES

We provide one to one support for all victims of rape, sexual abuse and any form of sexual violence with rooms available for appointments with our local ISVA. Short and long term counselling, advocacy, domestic abuse information & support, free legal advice, courses & workshops, free pregnancy testing and self development groups. Our Centre in Stevenage is open 5 full days per week and our helpline for male victims offers a 24 hour answer phone which is checked daily. Counselling and one to one support for male victims is offered at our premises in Hitchin.

OTHER INFORMATION

The Centre offers professional training for support workers, students and volunteers. We are also able to offer training, workshops and briefings to other local groups and organisations. Room hire is available for external professionals, meetings, courses and group work.

SERVICES

We offer confidential emotional support through our telephone helpline, face-to-face, by email and any other appropriate support mechanisms. Our services are available for women and girls over the age of 13 years.

The majority of our survivors are women and girls however we do provide support occasionally to male survivors. We do provide a women only space within our centre. All our volunteers and the services we provide are run by females only. We ensure that if support is being provided to a male survivor this is done at a different time or in an Outreach location.
